The SMS Lifesaver App,developed and implemented by UMS in cooperation with the CPR council in Sweden, won the Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2017.
The app was one of five finalists among 38 nominated projects to the Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2017. This is a newly established award targeting those who work with medical technology in healthcare. 2017 is the first year the prize is awarded.
“It feels awesome to win an innovation award within medtech and healthcare. This is an award focusing on innovative medicine and healthcare solutions that provide significant improvement in the delivery of healthcare services. Winning the Medtech4Health Innovation Award 2017 in a rewarding partnership with some of the best heart specialists from the Karolinska Institute is great. This solution saves lives through an untapped resource; the citizens, who have downloaded this app and agreed to voluntarily contribute to the important task of saving lives. The implementation of this solution is spreading across Sweden and several international markets. It feels good to make a small contribution to something as important as this”, says Espen Gylvik, CEO at UMS.
