As part of their endeavour to upgrade safety and security for students and staff, Copenhagen Business School becomes the first Danish university to implement the warning system UMS Campus Alert.
The system, which will be subscription based initially, will allow CBS to send customised SMS-messages and automated calls to fixed-line phones to students and staff in the event of an emergency situation.
The main reason behind the implementation of a warning system is the safety of students and staff, whilst the Danish Ministry for Children, Education and Gender Equality have also stressed that education institutions must have emergency plans and warning systems to support a positive and safe environment.
The story was first published on the website cbsobserver.dk and according to Lars Bergø – CBS’ safety inspector – “It is about time that CBS implemented a system that can alert not only employees but also students at CBS”.
